Prefold nappies have a three panels in on a flat nappy, with a thicker centre panel giving maximum absorbency with minimum bulk. These do not fasten, but are held in place by a good fitting waterproof cover . Terry nappies are the least expensive of all the nappy systems, they are also the quickest to dry. They consist of the nappy and separate cover or wrap. These nappies are a bit more complicated than the all in ones, or shaped nappies,as they need to be folded to fit baby. They can be fastened with a nappy nippa shown opposite. They are slim fitting, making them an option for newborns or smaller babies. Even if you choose terry nappies and later on decide you want to try all in ones, or shaped nappies, then you can use them as booster adsorbent pads. Terries need to be used with a good fitting waterproof cover. Muslin Nappies are the traditional newborn nappy. They have a great number of uses, as newborn nappies, boosters for older babies, burp cloths, general baby mop up cloths, and finally, they make excellent cleaning cloths when you are finished with them as nappies.
